This update is from UNBOUND LABEL, the team behind the NG Extension Manager. We are writing to share a decision regarding the planned NG Analytics service.

When we initially considered including an analytics service, our goal was to anonymously gather insights into how the extension is used. This information would have been invaluable in helping us identify which features are most popular, pinpoint potential issues, and ultimately guide our development efforts to improve the extension for everyone.

However, after thoroughly evaluating the technical requirements, ongoing maintenance, and complexities involved in setting up and running such a service in a way that meets our standards for reliability, performance, and, most importantly, user privacy and data security, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue its development and cancel its inclusion in the extension.

Providing a robust analytics service requires dedicated infrastructure and careful management to handle data securely and efficiently, while also navigating the realities of usage limitations present in various free service options. We concluded that undertaking this while simultaneously focusing on the core features of the NG Extension Manager would spread our resources too thin.

We understand that some users may have been looking forward to this feature as a way to contribute to the extension's improvement, and for that, we sincerely apologize if this news causes disappointment.

We want to strongly emphasize that as the NG Analytics service was never fully developed or integrated into any public release of the NG Extension Manager, no user data of any kind has ever been collected, stored, or transmitted by this service. Your privacy has remained completely unaffected.

By making this decision, we can better allocate our time and focus to enhancing the features you currently use and ensuring the stability, performance, and overall quality of the existing extension.
