How to setup a listener on a FireStore document in arduino using this library?

I cant figure out how I can use this library to setup a listener on a FireStore document and then update some local variables if there is any change. How would i go about doing that?

It's not supported by Google REST API.

Hmm.. I want to pair an ESP8266 with a mobile App, I will be updating the system configuration from an app, which will update the system conf on firebase firestore. How will the system (esp8266) get to know that systemconf has been updated? I dont wish to poll for changes on firestore. I also cannot create an endpoint on the esp8266 that is availale from the internet because i do not have a static public IP. I can create the endpoint, but that will only be available from the local WiFi network, and the user can use the app anywhere, so the system should also be able to update its conf as soon as that happens.. Can I daisy chain Cloud Function ->Listen to Conf Firestore Doc -> Cloud messaging: trigger notification to ESP8266 to update conf -> fetch conf doc and update local variables etc.? Or should/can I use remote config? Not really sure how to proceed here... Sorry for posting questions not quite relevant to the library, and I really appreciate your help..
