How do I change the colour of inline code block?

I want to change the style of inline code block to something different. It is currently very unrecognisable from the normal text.
I found this post talking about the way to do it before remote theme was introduced, but I don't know how to do it now.

Also if you have suggestions on which colours the default should be changed to, that would be awesome, I am noob in designing so I don't know what colour to use.

You can override the values in assets/css/main.scss as follows after the imports:

code.language-plaintext {
  color: #d14;
}

I wanted to not do the override of style when it was in a header, so made some more changes. Refer here
