The thing is, mutations are also calculated for the CDR3 region. Additionally, wildcard resolutions in the VJJunction are excluded from this calculation. However, in the distance calculation, wildcards are taken into account — which is why the value can appear larger. Could you try exporting the following column as well and see if the value is closer?
