Overlapped terminal malfunction

The overlapped terminal is just completely black, with a square cursor blinking in the left corner, nonresponsive to any keypresses or mouse gestures.
NC 1.7.0 on a Mac. I use Fish shell. Same if config is "open shell with default login shell" or configured manually to fish path.

As mentioned in the documentation, fish is not one of the supported shells:

Try Open shell with Command: ../bin/zsh

That works for me
../ does the trick, but you won't see it later in Terminal settings

Got the same issue all over sudden. Not sure what happened. Was running OK for quite some time with the latest version, and today all over sudden started to experience this.

I have tried the trick suggested by @Kassur25 (thank you for taking the time to share!).

Where else can I have a look?

Update - after 6 hours it came to the normal terminal...
Yet when I restarted the app - turned to black square once again...

Turned out that was conda in my .bash_profile.
Removed conda - all came back.
