Using better use of space in UI

Hello
Thank you for such a good program
Unfortunately there exist a few problems that make this program suffer
This program is my primary video player because i constantly need to create short video clips from what i watch
Since i only use mouse i need to have access to ui buttons and the bottom side of the program doesn't minimize completely
I wish i could define a time for example 10 seconds and with the press of only one button extract a clip from 10 seconds before and after the current position.
I think is works very well as a video player that records. certainly superior than VLC
