Announcement

The deprecation of the Microsoft Graph CLI is effective immediately, prompted by its low usage across the developer community. This decision allows Microsoft to focus resources on advancing innovative AI projects that empower Microsoft 365 developers, ensuring that future tools and solutions deliver even greater value and capabilities.

Alternatives

Customers are encouraged to migrate their existing scripts to Microsoft Graph PowerShell, which offers the same comprehensive API coverage as the CLI. Microsoft Graph PowerShell is actively maintained with dedicated resources, ensuring ongoing enhancements, support, and alignment with future Microsoft 365 advancements.

In addition, customers seeking a community-driven solution may consider migrating to the Microsoft 365 CLI. This open-source initiative is actively developed and maintained by the community, providing a robust alternative for managing Microsoft 365 workloads through the command line. The Microsoft 365 CLI continues to evolve based on community feedback and contributions, ensuring that users have access to modern, flexible tooling tailored to their needs.

Another alternative for developers is to use the Microsoft Graph Python SDK, which enables seamless integration of Microsoft Graph capabilities into Python scripts and applications. This SDK provides comprehensive API access and is ideal for those who prefer automating tasks or building solutions using Python, offering flexibility, scalability, and strong support for modern development workflows.

Thanks

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who explored the Microsoft Graph CLI and generously shared their insights, suggestions, and feedback. Your engagement and contributions have been invaluable in shaping the tool and informing our direction. The collaborative spirit and thoughtful input from the community are deeply appreciated, and we look forward to your continued involvement as we advance new solutions and technologies together.
