is there a way to disable certain python interpretters?

I have python2 installed and the python extension keeps trying to work with it, but gives error

Is there a way to make it ignore python2 completely, or a way to fix this error

There isn't, but the error doesn't hurt anything either.

It does not? Autocomplete and intellicode does not work for me, I thought it was due to this error.

Based on how you phrased things I'm assuming you're not using Python 2.7, and so what you're seeing is us logging everything we're doing. And that failure of Python 2.7 providing more details just tells the extension to not bother listing it as an option.

If you don't have auto-complete and you're trying to use Pylance (the default), then run the Pylance: Report Issue... command in VS Code to file a bug report.
