Semantic Kernel: Using GroupChatOrchestration with AzureAIAgents and AzureAIAgentThread

The examples of multi-agent orchestration all use InProcessRuntime, e.g. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/semantic-kernel/frameworks/agent/agent-orchestration/group-chat?pivots=programming-language-csharp
I do not see how to use this with a persistent thread or find documentation for an AzureAIRuntime (or equivalent) that takes a thread on which the collaboration takes place.
Am I missing something, or is this a gap in documentation and/or features?
