Preview: PAC CLI ships with local MCP server

Latest PAC CLI tool (1.44 .Net 8 version) ships with local MCP server.

Here is how to add it:
Adding an MCP server

The executable name is pac-mcp.exe and usually located at C:\Users\*user alias*\.dotnet\tools\.store\microsoft.powerapps.cli.tool\1.44.2\microsoft.powerapps.cli.tool\1.44.2\tools\net8.0\any\pac-mcp.exe

tip: run pac copilot mcp to find pac-mcp.exe location

You can select which PAC CLI commands to enable out of 20 supported now

Chat in VSCode, Visual Studio or any other MCP supported AI tool

Solution check is not enabled via MCP yet. This is good idea to add it

@petrochuk - The tools work, but Output window shows some warnings.

I had to create a pac-mcp.cmd with full path of the pac-mcp.exe inside .dotnet\tools so that I don't need to fully type the path in mcp json.

@rajyraman can you share which AI software package are you using? It does not look like VSCode or VS.

@rajyraman thank you for reporting this issue. It looks like the warnings are there because PAC CLI commands have space characters. This issue is going to be fixed in the next release.

It is available as dotnet tool Microsoft.PowerApps.CLI.Tool. It is cross platform version of CLI which runs on Windows, Linux, MacOS or any other platform supported by .Net Core. Install instructions are here: Install Power Platform CLI with .NET Tool
