Select/Combobox popup is clipped

As the title says, the popup of these components is clipped when the parent has overflow:clip/hidden.
The autocomplete works but according to docs it doesn't work with edit forms yet.
Since these components seem to share a lot of functionality that could be separated by a few parameters, I'm wondering if any component in particular is preferred or if it is indeed planned to merge these components.

They won't be merged. It's separate components that share a base class because of overlapping functionality

Cool. Then is there a way to get the pop-out... well, pop-out? Or is that by design?

Normally it should be on top. But hard to guess what is going on with your code without seeing it

It's on the example page as well if you set overflow:clip on the example card. If it relies on a provider, it's not specified.

Then I think, for now, the only solution is to not use clip
