lesson one i2c not installing

Lesson one
Single board Raspberry Pi option
It all went smoothly until
sudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 0
error message:
modprobe: FATAL: Module i2c-dev not found in directory lib/modules/5.15.32-v71+

I had a look in lib/modules and the 5.15.32-v71+ is not there
I retraced and did the earlier steps again and it all seemed to work until this step

I did some research and tested whether i2c was active with:
sudo raspi-config nonint get_i2c
This returned 0 so the port was enabled
I went back again and tried
sudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 0
This time the error message didn't occur
I turned the i2c on and off with
sudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 1 (off)
sudo raspi-config nonint do_i2c 0 (on)
and tested that it was on and off with
sudo raspi-config nonint get_i2c
So the problem is not i2c but I do have another problem about which I can post a new entry
