🚀 New Community Tool: AL-Go MCP Server (Preview)

Hey AL-Go community! 👋

I've been working on something that might be useful for fellow AL developers and wanted to share it with you all.

What is it? I've created an AL-Go MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server that brings AL-Go documentation and workflows directly into your AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT.

What it does:

• Provides instant access to AL-Go documentation during development
• Helps with workflow configuration and troubleshooting
• Offers contextual AL-Go guidance right in your IDE
• Supports search and retrieval of AL-Go best practices
• Current Status: 🔍 Preview Release This is still in early preview, but I've been using it personally and found it quite helpful for my AL-Go workflows. I wanted to make it available to the community to get feedback and see if others find value in it.

Future Plans: If the community finds this useful and it doesn't cause issues, I'm planning to:

• Make the repository public for contributions
• Add more AL-Go features and documentation coverage
• Implement community-requested enhancements
• Feedback Welcome! I'd love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or if you encounter any issues. This is very much a community-driven initiative.

Has anyone else been experimenting with MCP servers for AL development? Would love to hear about other tools or approaches you've found helpful!

Making AL-Go MCP Server open source is definitely is on my mind.
I'll come back to this (hopefully) today after I have a talk with all of my colleagues and managers about this project.

Just open-sourced the AL-Go MCP Server!

It brings @microsoft's excellent AL-Go documentation directly into VS Code through the Model Context Protocol.

Because sometimes the best compliment to great docs is building a whole server to help people find them! 😄
