Semantic is a package that provides language-aware editing commands based on source code parsers.

Semantic Manual

Semantic is a suite of Emacs libraries and utilities for parsing source code. At its core is a lexical analyzer and two parser generators (bovinator and wisent) written in Emacs Lisp.

According to the copyright, this has been a part of Emacs core since 1999.

Has anyone here actually used this before? I'm posting here because it reminds me of tree-sitter.
