ksum calculation line

I had a question about the line

ksum=(len(glob.glob(basedir+'/*'))-4)-failed

in the monitor scripts. I've traditionally fudged this to get the answer I want, but this is the line in the script where I don't think I understand what assumptions are being made about what the basedir directory does or doesn't contain (or what the 4 is for).

I think this is a reasonable comment -- @lmorabit put the 4 in, I think there's some assumption that there are other directories in the basedir, but my preference would be for there not to be!
