issues starting debugger

trying to start a debugger for a chrome/react app but when I call run I get this error

E5108: Error executing lua vim/shared.lua:152: t: expected table, got nil
stack traceback:

and I can't tell what I've gotten wrong based on the repo -- anyone have any ideas?
