Small simple upgrade to make the system better. Would be interested to hear if any one has any pushback or concerns? |

Hi there, thanks for the follow up questions.
1. Will the multi-choice voting include all proposed amendments and
counter-proposals posted in response to the original proposal during the
14-day window (including, e.g., on the final day of the 14 day window)?
In my current thinking - Yes. The community can discuss the topic and voice
differences of opinions on the discussion board and those won't be
included, but if someone takes the time to create and submit a thoughtful
counter proposal during that window it should be included. That being said
- that does leave DAO votes up to spam attacks if someone wants to scuttle
a vote via flooding the proposal system, but that seems like an edge case.
2. Will original proposers still have an opportunity to revise their
proposal in response to community feedback?
Yes.
3. The proposal notes that for multiple choice votes, "the option with the
most votes wins, subject to quorum and majority rules". Assuming quorum is
met, does the option with the most votes win even if it doesn't achieve a
majority (>50%)?
Yes.
4. Does your proposal apply to all types of proposal options (Technical
MIPs, Treasury Initiatives and Grants)?
I would really value technical community feedback here. In my mind the
proposal is for anything related to general DAO operations and DAO treasury
operations. Essentially anything where broad community consensus is key
etc...but for technical MIPs it feels like this area is more niche and
perhaps doesn't need to be changed.

I'm confused.
Everywhere on Realms, it says this passed.

This Proposal was passed by the DAO. The Metaplex Foundation will adjust the proposal procedures and voting parameters to implement this proposal for non-technical proposals going forward. |

Title: Proposal + DAO Voting Improvement: Multiple Choice
Links:
This proposal aims to improve governance efficiency and community engagement within the Metaplex DAO by introducing a structured, multi-choice voting system that encourages counter-proposals and healthy debate. It proposes a new flow in which proposals are submitted, discussed for two weeks, and voted on using a multiple-choice system that reflects the DAO’s collective preferences.
Context & Problem: Under the current process, proposals are posted, discussed, and then voted on in isolation. This leads to:
Fragmented proposal timelines.
Voter fatigue and apathy.
The risk that the DAO chooses from suboptimal options
Proposed Changes:
Proposal Window (14 Days):
Once a proposal is posted, a two-week discussion and counter-proposal window opens.
Community members are encouraged to post counter-proposals or amendments.
Multi-Choice Voting:
At the end of the 14-day window, all valid proposals are included in a single multi-choice vote.
Members vote for the option they prefer (including a “No Action” or “Reject All” choice).
The option with the most votes wins, subject to quorum and majority rules.
Educational Period:
Benefits:
Encourages deeper engagement and thoughtful governance.
Surfaces better ideas and viable alternatives.
Reduces “proposal spam” by requiring higher-quality thinking and framing.
Ensures that the DAO chooses among multiple options, not just the first one submitted.
