Getting the final processed metric from PETSc

After we provide the metric to PETSc, there are further metric processing steps done by MMG before the mesh is adapted (metric gradation etc.). Would it be possible to get this final metric?

It depends how much you want this information. I imagine it's achievable, but it would involve quite a bit of digging and contributing changes to PETSc.
