JAN new version (0.6.1) problems

I don't know why the new (latest version 0.6.1 from 2025.06.20) JAN version doesn't work. Why are the model settings (e.g. engine settings) removed? Existing chats don't work (I think because the model settings are broken)! I don't want to be rude, but the new version is complete crap! I reinstalled version 0.5.13 and fixed the model settings again. Everything is fine!

hi @Modzho we got a couple of reports due to the migration issue from the old version.
can you please help follow this guide and let us know if it works for you?

Sorry, but I don't have time. I'm happy with version 5., 6. version - it's going to take me a whole day to reconfigure again. I'm scared that there are no model settings in the new version or I can't find them. Because my larger models require a little configuration of the settings. Windows 11 Pro 24H2 here. if it ain't broke, don't fix it. This time my decision to update almost broke it. I won't update anymore.

I too was at first confused that there were no more model settings on the right side. But apparently you can find them by clicking "Assistants" or the assistant name with a cog icon next to it on the left side above the chat.

I guess the idea is that you can now save system prompts and temperature settings as presets and easily switch between them? Seems pretty useful because before you'd have to manually rewrite the system prompt if you wanted to change it mid-chat.

we were, are, and will always try our best to deliver the product on time with the best quality.
but 0.5.13 is quite old already.

if you change your mind, please give it a try.

btw, token speed may be faster on the latest build as we twist some configurations (and more are coming) to avoid any performance/bottle neck.

I too can't get the new version to work.
Ver 0.6.1 needs to be pulled, until it is fixed; it just doesn't work.

THANKS FOR RESPONDING. Sorry, I went back to 0.5.17, and didn't save the logs. I would like to make a few suggestions: Just do a fix up on 0.5.17 (until 0.61 is fixed). -- add an image processor, and allow more assistants to be added whereby more than one assistants can be functioning together.
