Hi everyone, here’s an update on current and future work.

First, in case you missed it, we released 2.10.0 and 2.10.1 earlier this week. Those releases included:

• Open-sourcing Draft Orders
• Free shipping Promotions
• Shipping Option Types dashboard management
• Support for custom Loggers
• Shipping Option Tax Rates

As well as a range of minor improvements.

Current and future work

In the past month, we have continued focusing on stabilizing the platform further, squashing numerous bugs. We plan to continue this going forward and triage more external contributions as part of this effort.

In addition to bug fixing, we expect to begin work on the following improvements:

• Specifying usage limit per customer on campaigns/promotions
• Enabling indexation of all core entities, including a public API to manage the index
• Refining the totals summary on the order details page
• Carrying over Promotions from Orders to Order Edits and Exchanges
• Making Admin tables configurable with custom columns and saved views
• Customizable display IDs

Bear in mind, our priorities are subject to change, so we cannot guarantee that all of these will ship in the near term.

Great stuff @olivermrbl and Medusa team!

One thing I am curious about is wether multi-language support is on the roadmap, either in the near future or later on. It seems to be a high demand topic in feature requests as well #2003.

Use-cases where we currently run into issue, even when having a multi-lingual CMS attached are sending transactional emails, server-side tracking, analytics & reporting which depend on localized data.

@pepijn-vanvlaanderen, the next couple of months of work are centered around improving and polishing the existing commerce modules and our framework tooling. A multi-language feature is a larger endeavour and does not fall into this category, so I can't give you a specific timeline for when we might pick this up at this point.

Very understandable! We tried to open up possibilities around translating data with this PR: #13190

If you see any possibilities by changing the implementation to still get it in the core, we are very much open to adjust accordingly. I.e. a more generic approach by adding a transformer to medusa config which formats the prepareLineItemData output. Feel free to DM to follow up :)

@pepijn-vanvlaanderen, this is more or less what we have been discussing, but as a workflow hook instead. This would not only be useful in your scenario, but for a range of other use cases as well.

Essentially, the idea would be to offer a transformLineItem hook, allowing you to populate the data on a line item before it is added to cart:

If the hook has been registered, the output is merged when preparing the line item data.

We will likely introduce such a hook at some point, but we need to design a good API for it.

Hi, first of all, thank you for such an amazing open-source project!

I wanted to check if there are any plans to add "upto" conditions inside promotions as part of discount limits.

For example:

10% off up to USD 10

This would allow us to set percentage-based/amount-based discounts but also cap the maximum discount a customer can receive. It's a common use case in e-commerce, since it helps control margins while still giving customers meaningful offers.

Would love to know if this is on the roadmap, or if you'd consider it as a feature request.
