Show camera image without scanning

Hello,
I am about to begin experimenting with this SEAMINGLY AMAZING component, however, after reviewing the documentation, discussions and looking at the demo, I have a fundamental question I'm hoping get answered, before I get too deep, please...

Is it possible to have the div display the camera and control the start of scanning, independently with a separate button?

The idea being

1. user presses a button to begin showing the camera view in the div (with no active scanning, yet)
2. user views the barcode & lines it up using the div
3. when ready, user presses another button to start scanning / decoding
4. upon successful scan, the code stops scanning and acquire the result (via OnSuccess I presume)
5. maybe begins back at step 1 or step 2 (based on the use case).

Is this flow possible using either of the components (the one for end-to-end or the one for custom - sorry don't recall their correct names)
