Migrating recipes from version 1.0 to 2.6

As the title suggests, I am having issues with data migration. I did try taking a back up of version 1 and restoring that in 2.6... seems just to many changes to make that viable... it crashed the 2.6 version HARD.

I actually have the two versions running side by side in docker containers, hope 2.6 could scrape 1.0 data that did not work either.

I also tried /group/migrations.

Suggestions?

What version is your Mealie instance on v1? 1.0?

Though my wife pointed out they original URL is still available so there is that route. But it would lose all the unit conversions.

Can you post your logs when you try to migrate and it fails? Restoring a backup from v1 should work fine on the newest version

After the restore ... that instance of mealie is trashed. By that I mean the recipes that were there are gone ... of course. But all the users are gone too, and no way to recreate them ... so I delete the instance and start over.

I am talking maybe 30 or so recipes that I want to restore. The reason being that we had migrated all the recipes to scalable units. Have units changed a lot in version 2?

My wife is the kitchen coordinator at church, so she uses it for funeral receptions etc. So, she will select say 5 recipes that are scaled up, then create a shopping list. Item like sugar get weird... one entry for 4 cups and another for 6 teaspoons. Then she gets to aggregate them. Is this something I should add as a feature request?

I also have issue 5056 checked in ( #5056 ). After the earlier data restore, I was unable to restart 2.6. After a few reboots and reinstall attempts, I rejected 2.6 and dropped back to 2.5.

2,5 installed flawlessly. When given the backup you provided it to restored without issue. Bottom line it works now. Thank you. I will hold off on the 2.6 for a few months.

By the way, we should now be "members". I see from your github profile a bit of Python... does this mean mealie is Python based?

Mealie's frontend is written in NuxtJS, and the backend is written in Python
