string index out of range on line 84 #1

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start the program with the device connected
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
yh632.py throws
"IndexError: string index out of range "
at line 84
>> if recieved[0] == '\x00' and buffer[-1] == '\xAA'
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
latest on xubuntu 12.10
