website integration without port forwarding?

hi everyone,
i'm very new to raspberry pi in general and just figuring out stuff for birdnetpi. i would like to setup my pi in my parents garden bc i live in a small apartment in the middle of the city and have no electrical sockets outside. accessing the recordings etc from outside my parents network would probably work with a vpn, right?
the best case scenario would be to integrate my birdnetpi into my website but my dad is not the biggest fan of port forwarding. what do you think would be the best way to handle that problem? sending the data to a second pi in my own network and publishing from there?
i know this is a very broad question and i'm a bit embarrassed of my lack of knowledge tbh but any requests are welcome!!
