Who is telling the truth?

• stock=gtk-help with mate-keybinding-properties

This implies that deprecated gtk-stock was replaced in mate-appearance-properties but we didn't get to that in mate-keybinding-properties. If an icon theme uses different icons for these or is missing the older icon, there would be expected to be a visual inconsistancy.

So the todo idea is to replace the nice gtk-stock by icon-name?

Exactly: gtk-stock is deprecated and thus probably unmaintained. Bringing it back in another place means more work if this ever breaks, and every deprecation we replace is one less thing to have to reimplement in mate-desktop (or a gtk4-extensions library) if GTK3 is ever removed from distros and becomes unavailable.
