Description
I just tested DHCP option 43 through ethernet with ZD621R running LinkOS 6.9 and it works just fine.
It connects out of the box to my service in cloud that has a SHA-1 Zebra Signed SSL certificate.
So as far as Nestle use case, as long as they are ready to set up Option 43, they can use my free service to capture new printers out of the box from remote sites and provision them with Nestle certificates and PPME URI and put them in production without the need of any IT personnel.
I am aware of the SHA-1 to SHA-256 transition that will take place when we release Link-OS V7.
Before Link OS 7 I will need to create a new CSR for my service and submit to WTech@Zebra.com as described in https://techdocs.zebra.com/link-os/2-14/webservices/
@Gingreau, Nicolas: Do you know when Link-OS V7 will be released ?
It’s unclear to me whether a service with a Zebra-signed SHA-256 certificate will be able to manage weblink connections from printers with LinkOS v6 or LinkOS v5.
Or will I need to run 2 separate provisioning services, one for LinkOSv7 printers and one for pre-LinkOSv7 printers ?
I will test once I have the new SSL SHA-256 certificate.
Regards
Ugo
