Installlation error - Class "JFactory" not found

When trying to install the latest version I get the following error:

Es ist ein Fehler aufgetreten.
0 Class "JFactory" not found

Any idea what is causing this?

My joomla version is 5.3.3

Hello Frank,

Thanks for the report. Did you use one of the release versions, such as: https://github.com/mastervanleeuwen/J-TrackGallery/releases/tag/0.9.36
or did you download the current code as a zip file?

This error is probably caused by some recent technical changes which I am still working on and testing. I expect that the release versions are not affected by this.

Unfortunately it happened with both versions and my page was completely not reachable after the installation. Only a complete installation of a backup solved the issue. So I stopped further tries.

General question: Are you planning to support Joomla 6 without the compatibility plugin enabled? In this case I will wait and try it again with Joomla 6 :-).

Sorry to hear that this caused so much trouble. I am currently working on adapting the code to work with Joomla 5 and 6 without the compatibility plugin. It will probably take about a month to finish this and test it, but it is coming along.

In the mean time, I would also like to understand the problem that you encountered in a bit more detail, so that I can fix it or implement a protection against it for others. I have two questions for this purpose:

1. Did you install the component from scratch, or did you update an existing installation?
2. Are you using the compatibility plugin, or is it turned off? I noticed on my own test server that when I switched off the compatibility plugin, it may block the admin interface.
