Mason re: npm

Writing this comment for myself and anyone else trying to get a handle on this:

• Mason requires npm for some LSP providers

Note that mason.nvim will regularly shell out to external package managers, such as cargo and npm. Depending on your personal usage, some of these will also need to be installed. link

• npm requires node
• npm's own documentation says not to install node without a version manager(nvm, volta, et al.)
• Mason works with nvm (for me!) but perhaps a problem with volta? Npm (installed through Volta) can't be found #879
• There's some clamoring about making Mason play nice with other JS package managers like yarn, bun, et al. Allow for customization of installers #1786
