I've no idea why it's asking you to format the USB drive. I just plugged a ShredOS USB stick into Windows 10 and it automatically opens in explorer as shown below.
What version of Windows are you using? I never use Windows so maybe somebody else that's familiar with Windows might have a clue as to what the problem is. |

I am using windows 11, its very strange as the wiping process goes very smoothly but then when I want to access the PDFs , my D drive wont even open when I click on it anymore |

NOTE: I mean I am using windows 11 on my main computer to attempt to download the PDFs however the systems im wiping have all had windows 10 and 1 system was on Windows 7 , could this be the cause to my problem |

The contents of the disks in the system you're wiping are irrelevant so won't be the cause of this issue. Have you tried a different USB stick? You don't need to leave the ShredOS USB stick in place, once ShredOS has booted and nwipe is displayed you can pull the ShredOS stick out and plug in a different FAT formatted stick in. Maybe one you formatted on windows 11. As long as the USB stick is back in place before you press the spacebar at the end of the wipe or Control C to abort, the PDFs will be written to the Windows FAT formatted USB stick. |

I have seen similar warnings after using the USB drive on Linux or even BIOS/UEFI updates. I suspect it wasn't closed as cleanly as Windows would like, tho when I've run 'chkdsk /f d:' (or other drive letter) on the USB drive, no problems are found.

Another issue I seem to be having is that after I have finished using Shred , and press entre to save PDFs and exit , when I remove the USB drive and put it into my main computer to download the PDF certification. It tells me I need to 'Reformat' my USB drive however when I do this it just deletes all data on the drive
