I've no idea why it's asking you to format the USB drive. I just plugged a ShredOS USB stick into Windows 10 and it automatically opens in explorer as shown below. What version of Windows are you using? I never use Windows so maybe somebody else that's familiar with Windows might have a clue as to what the problem is. |

I have seen similar warnings after using the USB drive on Linux or even BIOS/UEFI updates. I suspect it wasn't closed as cleanly as Windows would like, tho when I've run 'chkdsk /f d:' (or other drive letter) on the USB drive, no problems are found.

Another issue I seem to be having is that after I have finished using Shred , and press entre to save PDFs and exit , when I remove the USB drive and put it into my main computer to download the PDF certification. It tells me I need to 'Reformat' my USB drive however when I do this it just deletes all data on the drive
