Transfer very slow

I really love the idea of TeslaUSB but I am never able to really get all videos off.
I finally took the key out of the car and plugged it into a normal USB charger. Now archiving took 3:30 hours for 1688 files. I think ~40GB.

Is this normal?

I am using the RPi0 and normal Wifi to a Samba server.

Yes. That's normal. RPi0, especially, has really poor wifi performance. You may consider configuring one of the Keep Car Awake options.

Yes, I just did this but keeping the car on for 3-4 hrs is also not really a solution

Something I did to try to combat this is getting an Ethernet adapter for my Rpi zero w2. I bring the Rpi inside when I need to archive, and it was about 4 times faster for me since using Ethernet.
