Start using Discussions in Azure Functions University

👋 Hey serverless friends! After giving it a lot of thought, I'm opening up GitHub discussions for Azure Functions University. The idea is that this will enable a better interaction between the folks that use the lessons and those who write them.

So far, the interaction has been mostly one-way, with me and the lesson creators doing live streams, providing content in this repo, and commenting on the occasional issue. But this is going to change!

How does using Discussions provide value to you, the user

• You can ask questions in the Lessons Q&A and get answers by the lesson creator or other users.
• You can help shape the future of Azure Functions University by suggesting new ideas about the repo in general or adding content request issues for specific lesson ideas.

How does using Discussions provide value to me and the creators

As a lesson creator, I'd like to know if the content:

• is easy enough to understand.
• is complete, or are there obvious gaps.
• helps you in your journey to learn serverless on Azure.

By engaging in the Lesson Q&A discussions and using occasional polls we get a better understanding of how users interact with the content which allows us to create an even better learning experience.

For anyone interested why I'm choosing GitHub Discussions instead of Discord or Slack:

1. I prefer to have all information about AzFuncUni to be in one place as much as possible. It makes it a bit easier to manage for me and the maintainers.
2. I prefer the openness and transparency of Discussions vs a platform that requires another signup. If someone has a question (or suggestion) in a GitHub Discussion I can easily share that link publicly and ask for more eyes on that topic.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a daily user of various Slacks and Discord servers and I like using them. Just not for AzFunUni at the moment 😅 .
