/home at marbits is full

Hi everyone,

I'm mentioning all of you so this announcement reaches as many people as possible.

The /home volume in marbits is getting full very fast. This is normally due to people installing their own conda instances in their homes. Please review your home dir and remove things asap. We are working on increasing the size of the hard drive in marbits so you can do more things at home.

What is the maximum allowed size?

In my case (and as a piece of advice for other users), conda environments are symbolically linked outside the /home directory. For example, it is installed in /mnt/smart/users/USER and then in my /home directory I ran:

ln -s /mnt/smart/users/USER/.conda .

Quotas at /home are set at 3 Gb for now. What @lidmontiel says is correct, but you can also use the --prefix option when installing. See here in issue #56
