I'm impressed about the price and functionality, I consider that required a lot of compromises to get that result.
Therefore I'm not sure, if my proposals makes any sense.
Today I build my CoAP/DTLS 1.2 CID client for the makerdiary nRF9151 Connect Kit.
Reading the nrf9151_connectkit_nrf9151_common.dtsi I found, that only a button is mapped to the nRF9151. The RGB LED and the BQ25180 (battery charger) are only connected to the interface MCU, so the nRF9151 has no LED for some signals and the can't read the battery (charging) status.
Therefore, if possible, please consider to spend a second RGB LED for the nRF9151 in a future version.
Also, as idea for a future version, replace the BQ25180 by a BQ25186 in order to simplify solar panel support. I use solar panels now for about 6 months in combination with a nRF9151, sometimes with new Lithium Hybrid super caps, and the works very, very well. Even on the dark days in winter (here in south Germany) and with a simple and cheap solar panel, the device was always charged.
And please, add the BQ25186 I2C to the nRF9151 control in order to read the state.
