Add option "automatically fill with nops"

I end up having to add "nop" to all the instructions I am writing into MUA, else it would mess up the instructions.

You can do it with !pad. From the help file:

!pad
When specifying the block end address, this command pads all unused bytes with the requested byte value.
The command should be followed by a hexadecimal numerical expression specifying the byte value.

Example

<00401000..00401010>

    !pad 90 ; inserts 16 bytes of the value 90

I have tried that actually but there was some problem with it. Will try it again and then report back. Thanks. Still, don't you think to have a global option that just does this automatically would be even better?

So I tried adding a simple !pad 90 at the end and it told me that it would only work for some specific section or something...?

This is how the code looked like:

<theaddress>
mov eax, rbx
!pad 90

Note, "theaddress" was of course a real address. this is just an example here

That's because you didn't specify the block end address. Please read the description of !pad and the example again.

I think you misunderstood what it does. If there's a block end address, e.g. <10..20>, it makes sure only this range is touched, and the !pad command fills the remaining bytes, if there are any.

If you're just looking for an option to fill a remaining part of a command which is being overridden with nops, then there's no such option. It could be nice, and pull requests are welcome.

Haha, if I was good enough with coding I would've already given it a go. Hopefully it eventually will be added, I think that would be the cherry on top and allows you to focus more on the task than adding these extra regions (not to mention that it is also a slight time saver and if you add it up, a huge one at that).
