Please add AlmaLinux 10 images for x86_64_v2

Hi there!

Following the comment below, is it possible to add AlmaLinux 10 for x86_64_v2? I have the same problem running the existing image on Proxmox, on an old MacMini.

I think I figured it out!
Looking at the /var/log/incus/test1/console.log I see the following:

Fatal glibc error: CPU does not support x86-64-v3

Indeed, the two incus cluster hosts where it fails are relatively old and have the x86-64-v2 architecture!
So this can be closed.

Is there any downside in supporting x86_64_v2 (instead of v3) for Alma images? I, for sure, would like to have that extra 3 years of support for a RHEL-like distro on my aging, but still perfectly capable, hardware.

Not sure, most advocates of x86-64-v3 mention a 10% or so performance improvement compared to x86-64-v2, so in theory moving from v3 to v2 as baseline would slow things down for most users.

Whether that's noticeable or not in the real world, I don't know.

It seems to me that supporting x86-64-v2 with AlmaLinux would give more choice to users as there's already Rocky Linux, Oracle Linux and RHEL itself (No LXC image with RHEL but LXC container can exists after doing a conversion from a clone) that are v3 only... Is it possible to do a survey or something? :)

@stgraber I've checked the jenkins site and it's been almost 6 days since the last successful build of AlmaLinux image so I guess that the problem has been with the change to x86_64_v2... Are you confident that you'll eventually find a solution for that?

Nope. I've now reverted the change so we can get some up to date images again.

Sounds like we'd need to add x86_64_v2 as an architecture alias in Incus, then update distrobuilder at least on top of that, then try again.

I'm using plain LXC. Do I have to say goodbye "for ever" to the possibility of v2 for Alma with that software? By the way, thanks for the effort...
