gemini-2.0-flash-exp with Copilot?

Ive been trying to add gemini-2.0-flash-exp to copilot but is getting this error message:

Model verification failed: [GoogleGenerativeAl
Error]: Error fetching from
https://generativelanguage.googleapis.com/v1
beta/models/gemini-2.0-flash-exp:embedContent: [400 ] *
EmbedContentRequest.model: unexpected model name format

Is it possible to get it to work and if so how?

Hi @PixeroJan, how did you add it? Can you share screenshots and descriptions. It's working for me for a long time now.

First I have gemini 1.5 working with api key.
Under Add custom model I added: gemini-2.0-flash-exp as name and google as provider and then added the google api key again. But when I tried to verify I got the error code I posted previously.

@PixeroJan Why do I see error about embedContent, are you adding it as a chat model or embedding model?

Im trying to add it as a chat model. Sorry I’m not so technical but I only added the things I wrote. Maybe if you give me a step by step I could try again. By the way I’m using the same Google api key as with Gemini 1.5.

I just tried again on my iPhone and somehow I got it to work. Will try again an my laptop tomorrow.

On the third try I got it to work on my laptop as well. All is well now.
Don´t know why it didn´t work the first times.
