Hippy camp issues

Lately (last 2-3 weeks or so) when I run garbo I get stuck in an endless loop for this message in mafia:

Executing Wanderers/Spit Acid
Wandering at The Hippy Camp, forcing dirty hippy Vegan chef, for expected value 48745.00 (Item Drop Values (Guaranteed Drops); Book of Facts)

Visit to Island: The Hippy Camp in progress...
You can't get to that area.

I had put in a bug report but it got closed with no response.
Has anyone else encountered this and figured out a solution?
