It can be useful to create convenient tools for developers when writing/debuggin wfspecs:

• Freezing a WfRun: This can be useful when developers have large wfspecs and they want to create a template to run other workflows.

does anyone see any others? profiling? tracing?

I often find myself comparing the output of compiled WfSpecs between SDKs to validate that a feature was implemented correctly across all languages. I've always thought it would be useful to automate some of this process, though it may only be useful to OSS maintainers.

I would like to be able to lhctl run my-wf-spec --startingNode 2-TASK-some-task somevar somevalue ..., which would start the WfRun from a certain node. You'd have to pass in all the variables. Just for debugging.
