Background Image - What Size?

I've looked everywhere for this and maybe I just overlooked it somewhere. What is the recommended background size? It doesn't appear that Heimdall scales the background image correctly to fit the display. I put a logo over a background image and it gets cut off at the top of the screen. I've tried 1920x1080, 1280x720, etc with no luck.
