Adding support for oct escaping

Hi,

Can we please add escaping for the # in the replaceOctothorpe function?

Somthing like this:
m.replace("#", valueStr) => m.replace(/(?<!\\)#/, valueStr)`

This will be very appreciated, and enable the use of # as part of the plural macro 👍🏻
