Wallet requires full node

According to the documentation btcWallet requires a full btcd node.
Is this still correct?

Yeah, that comment is very old and not true anymore. Today you have a lot of options: btcd full node or pruned, bitcoind full node or pruned or Neutrino. See https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md#available-backend-operating-modes.

Should LND really work on pruned node?

Cause I found a way to break lnd on pruned Core...

Unfor I don't have that test setup anymore. Test was done 2024 Jan..Mar and I'd say I had lnd 0.17.4. It was advertised to have Sync Lost fixes on pruned.

Tl;Dr -
Setup LND onto Bitcoin Core with purge size of 10GB
Stop LND at Block #Y.
Wait approx 5 weeks.
Start LND after Core has purged Block #Y+1.
LND will not start due block #Y+1 can't be found.

Even without trickling it there are open issues on prunes:
