How to change the default file-explorer?

I would like to change my default file-explorer to Thunar.
I looked it up and the command should be
xdg-mime default thunar.desktop inode/directory.
But after executing the terminal shows me the following output:

A restart didn't help.
Could the default mime list from clifm be in conflict with the one under .config/mimeapps.list?

Yes, and it doesn't matter, because both files are totally unrelated. ~/.config/clifm/profiles/default/mimelist.clifm is for clifm's use exclusively.

At least in my case, xdg-mime reads from ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list, not from ~/.config/mimeapps.list. Maybe this helps.
