[Wheel Update] Pypi Wheel for 1.11.1

Hello,

We would like to include hivemind in our dependencies. The latest released wheel is 1.1.11, which throws protobuf warnings. I see that v1.11.1 has fixed this issue, we currently clone directly from github to access that tag, but to publish a wheel ourselves, need that version to be on Pypi (does not allow building directly from git). Would you please release a wheel for v1.11.1?

Hi @jcd496! Correct me if I'm wrong, but the latest version of Hivemind is 1.1.11: https://github.com/learning-at-home/hivemind/releases/tag/1.1.11

This version also has a package and a wheel published in PyPI: https://pypi.org/project/hivemind/1.1.11/#files

Are you referring to some more recent fix that didn't make it to the release?

Hi @mryab, thanks for getting back to me!

We have some issues with 1.1.11, which is the latest release. The version that is compatible with our stack is 1.11.11, which actually doesn't have a wheel in pypi. I'm hoping you can push a wheel for version 1.11.11 to pypi so that we can install directly from there. Currently we install directly from github using
hivemind @ git+https://github.com/learning-at-home/hivemind@1.11.11 If we are be able to just do pip install hivemind==1.11.11, it will allow us to release a wheel for our code using hivemind as a dependency.

I believe 1.11.11 was a typo, and it has exactly the same commits as 1.1.11 [1] [2]. Are you sure there is any meaningful difference between those branches?

I must not be understanding something. It does look like the commits are the same but when I use 1.1.11 I get warnings:

UserWarning: Protobuf gencode version 5.29.0 is exactly one major version older than the runtime version 6.31.1 at runtime.proto. Please update the gencode to avoid compatibility violations in the next runtime release.

which do not appear when I install via hivemind @ git+https://github.com/learning-at-home/hivemind@1.11.11 So maybe the issue isn't with the release at all, but with how pip is resolving the dependencies. We can probably close this issue, it seems unrelated to your release tags afterall. Thank you for looking!

Some more info: The issue is that the p2p daemon is being built differently between the two, and I don't know exactly why.
/hivemind/hivemind_cli/p2pd

comparing p2pd binaries built with pip install hivemind==1.1.11 and pip install hivemind @ git+https://github.com/learning-at-home/hivemind@1.11.11 , all other variables held constant.

Binary files .venv_1_11/lib/python3.12/site-packages/hivemind/hivemind_cli/p2pd and .venv_1_1/lib/python3.12/site-packages/hivemind/hivemind_cli/p2pd differ

I actually think the latest wheel 1.1.11 is broken.
P2PDaemonError('Daemon failed to start: .venv/lib/python3.12/site-packages/hivemind/hivemind_cli/p2pd: 2: Syntax error: "(" unexpected')
The latest commit on main works great, able to run without issue. If you could just publish the current main branch to a wheel that should fix the problem for us. 1.2.0
