Why sqlx spawns a thread ?

While reading the code (sqlite), I saw that the establish method spawns a thread, I am not sure to understand the reason, should it be a task instead?

It probably has to do with the fact that every sqlite operation is blocking so if you don't spawn it in a separate thread it'll block the rest of the program
