Then where exactly have we specified the logic for the multiplication? I mean this is just the schema for the tool. I mean don't we need to bind proper functions?

Also we should have new conceptual guides in 1-2 weeks for tool calling.

The important thing to understand is that:

1. You bind schema with models, allowing models to request a tool call.
2. When you get a took call request from a model, it's up to you what you do with it. You can use it to invoke a function or you can use it for entirely different purposes like information extraction.

This guide is showing how to do step (1) using OpenAI's format for tool schema
