V2 configuration

I'm trying to understand how to properly configure the system for multiple tenants in v2, but I'm confused about how the configuration flow works.

How is tenant-specific configuration supposed to work?
What's the proper way to set up different configurations for different tenants?

I resolved this by instantiating a (main) assistant with individual configurations per user and initiating a separate cron job graph for each. Is there a more elegant approach? Thanks
