why least_conn is not supported when enable dynamic configuration?

least_conn: to use the least connected method (note that this is available only in non-dynamic mode: --enable-dynamic-configuration=false)

could anyone help to explain a little more on this limitation? I want to least connection mechanism but dynamic configuration is also very important feature for me.

Would also like to see least_conn supported by the new dynamic balancing. The new ewma method is better for 99% of situations I agree but ours falls into the 1%.

I think I/we/someone will need to try and code it ourselves and PR it for it to ever come back

Yeah, we need to implement least_conn in Lua. @xiuxiu in dynamic mode we don't use Nginx's balancer logic at all and do it in Lua - so it's just matter of implementation.

Would be great to have more of the load balancing algorithms implemented in lua for use in ingress nginx (including in tcp services where we really need least_conn balancing to be able to use nginx for our use case, see: #3598 ).

There's currently no way. It needs to be implemented in Lua first.

That being said, have you considered using EWMA load balancing?
