Improve wide task panels usability

When we use a wide task panel, like the logs and the terminal, we may change routes/pages and it looks like nothing happens because the panels are covering the main area.

Possible solutions:

1. Make the open panel flick (quickly move its top side down and up), to remind the user that they have a panel blocking their view
2. Move the panel to the right size so we can keep visibility of both the panel and the newly navigated route
3. Minimize the panel

I agree I often get confused when the current panel covers the new left pane section I just clicked.

I think for most part I just want the new section clean, so switching sections could close all open panes, but I appreciate that this is not a solution in all cases. Making the current full-width panels leave a bit of a gap so that it's clear something happens behind them might be the least intrusive solution. Perhaps also making it easy to minimise/close all open panels would help.
