Quic support in KTOR?

I’m currently piloting Ktor with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) for my project. Our existing app relies on the QUIC protocol via the Cronet engine, and I’ve encountered a few points I'd like clarification on:

1. Why doesn't Ktor currently support the QUIC protocol?
2. Is there any official roadmap or timeline for when QUIC support might be added?
3. What would be a recommended and scalable plan of action for teams looking to migrate their networking stack to Ktor, while keeping future QUIC support and seamless migration in mind?

I also noticed that the YouTrack issue for QUIC support is over two years old. At the same time, there seem to be some related PRs merged in 2023: GitHub Issues on QUIC.

We're hoping to address it some time later this year. You'll want to follow this ticket. Unfortunately, the work in 2023 was abandoned.
