Today marks the inclusion of the Trinity Desktop Environment 14.1.3.
The Trinity Desktop Environment (TDE) project is a computer desktop environment for Unix-like operating systems with a primary goal of retaining the function and form of traditional desktop computers.
It being the contuniation of KDE 3.x where the original project left it, makes it an excellent modern fit for a fully fledged desktop environment even on the lower end G4/G5 or low single-core performance riscv64 machines, Arch POWER targets. Where Plasma 6 simply won't do due to increasingly intensive VRAM requirements or Xfce not being feature complete enough for you, TDE may just be the thing!
Thanks to the kind folks at TDE for doing most of the work for us with their tde-packaging Git repository sporting semi-full Arch-like support:
https://mirror.git.trinitydesktop.org/gitea/TDE/tde-packaging/src/branch/master/arch
All packages as they are shipped, are now supported on Arch POWER being available for all 5 architectures (including
espresso
wink wink). For now it all lives in [testing] only so be aware that some maturation will likely be needed.
Enjoy!
